Forward in Faith | One Vision, Two Initiatives
__largepreview__.webp)
Over the past two years, God has positioned our church at a unique moment in our history. We’ve seen incredible growth, with attendance doubling and hundreds of people taking meaningful steps in their faith in Jesus. As we look ahead, this is not just a moment but the beginning of a three-year journey as we prayerfully respond to what God is doing. Explore this page to learn more about how we are stepping forward to steward this growth and continue the work He has begun.
ONE VISION,
TWO INITIATIVES
OUR VISION
To expand our Gospel impact
INITIATIVE 1: CAMPUS EXPANSION
As Emmanuel grows in size and impact, our facilities are quickly running out of room. As part of our Forward in Faith initiative, we will be undergoing a building expansion and renovation of our existing facilities.
WHAT WILL THE EXPANSION INCLUDE?
- A brand-new 3,600 square feet Multipurpose building that will serve as cafe, event, classroom, and lobby space.
- Expansion of our existing sanctuary to add 40% more seating capacity and nearly 1,000 square feet of space
- Increased classroom space and security in Kids wing
- Substantially larger Youth Space
- Increased parking capacity
- Updating existing infrastructure to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the MA State Building Code (which means a larger elevator, accessibility ramps, fire sprinkler system, etc)
- See below for a fly-through video of the building expansion
INITIATIVE 2: START A NEW CHURCH
WHY PLANT CHURCHES?
The Calling: Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you” (John 20:21). Our mission as disciples of Jesus is to preach the gospel to the unchurched and unreached people God has placed in our lives.
The Strategy: Planting new churches across New England is a critical opportunity to preach the Gospel and help people grow in their faith. We want to be a church that plants churches. We are prioritizing Gospel growth over our own church growth.
WHAT IS THE NEW CHURCH’S VISION?
We are sending a team of families led by Luke and Dana Proctor to launch a new church in the Medfield-Westwood area. We can consider this team a group of missionaries, called by Church of Emmanuel in Foxboro to go out to preach the Gospel. The church plant will be a community committed to worship and outreach, celebrating God's presence in all of life. Launching in January 2027, it will function as an independent congregation of the Christian & Missionary Alliance.
Our Goal:
$ 7.5 MILLION
(total cost of building project, facilities upgrades, furnishings, and church plant startup)
CAMPAIGN STATUS
As of September 2026, we have approximately $3.2 million pledged towards our 3-year campaign and have received nearly $900,000. We still have a financial gap of $1.5–2 million to close in the next 2.5 years.
Our prayer is for 100% participation across Emmanuel–not equal giving, but everyone prayerfully considering how they can play a part.
If you have not yet participated, or if you feel led to increase your commitment, we invite you to prayerfully consider how you can be a part of what God is doing through Forward in Faith.
PROJECT STATUS
Our building team has been working diligently with Timberline Construction through the pre-construction phase, which has taken longer than we originally anticipated as we finalize design, blueprints, town approvals, financing, and other details. The pre-construction phase is now expected to take approximately 20 weeks rather than the 10 weeks originally planned, so we will not be breaking ground in October; due to winter constraints, we may be able to begin construction as early as April.
We’re thankful to share that the town Planning Board approved our submission with no issues whatsoever – praise God! Please continue praying for God’s favor and guidance.
MY COMMITMENT
We invite you to prayerfully consider your part in the Forward in Faith campaign by completing a commitment form and pledging your support over the next three years. This is an opportunity to step forward in faith and be part of what God is doing through our church. If you’re ready to give now, you can also click the button below to make a direct donation to the campaign.
PRAY WITH US
- 21 Days of Prayer - We invite our church family to commit to 21 days of intentional prayer over this new work. Booklets of 21 devotionals are available in the resources tab to help guide us as we pray together over the many needs, decisions, and opportunities connected to our expansion projects.
- Daily Prayer Together - We invite everyone to pray for this vision and the people involved at 1:05 PM daily. As we pray at the same time, our hearts and voices will rise together before God in unity and dependence on Him.
